Auto roles

This page will give you all the information you need to know about setting up roles to be automatically assigned upon join using yzbot.

Rationale

If you own a server, it is likely that you want to assign a role automatically to your new members. For example, a new member joins your server and you want them to automatically be assigned a Member role. Yzbot can handle all of this for you if you follow the below steps.

Permissions

In order for the autorole to be added, the bot must have the Manage Roles permission and the bot's highest role must be higher than the role you have assigned, otherwise it will not work.

Managing the autorole

In order to set the autorole, you need to type ;autorole set <role name>, replacing <role name> with the name of the role that you want to set as the autorole. Now, your autorole is configured and when new members join, they will receive the autorole, automatically!

There might come a time though, when you want to stop yzbot automatically giving people a role when they join. If this ever does happen, simply type ;autorole remove and the autorole setting will be removed.
